You may have heard me profess my love for iPad Pro once or twice, so it will probably come as no surprise to you that when Apple approached me to be a featured creator for the new iPad Pros, I eagerly sad yes. I was commissioned to create two illustrations showcasing iPad's capabilities as a thinking tool rather than a tool for fine artists, which was right up my alley. I packed a lot into my 8-day trip to the Bay Area, but the primary reason for being there was to conduct a workshop at the Stanford D-School with Alli McKee. We met this summer at IFVP and immediately recognized that we should find ways to work together and join forces towards a common goal: getting people in business to think and communicate more visually. Between the two of us we have experience consulting at Deloitte, Bain, and Ideo for all kinds of clients and industries. In this time we have learned that even teams made up of the best and brightest talent still struggle to develop and communicate their ideas clearly and effectively.

What a difference a year can make!

What a difference a year can make!

I have about 30 sketchbooks and Moleskine journals lying around that I have used to track my ideas, designs, learning, and experiences over the years. Occasionally I open them up to reference different events or for inspiration, but for the most part they are just collecting dust. 

Last fall, I discovered the many benefits of digital drawing, and have since jumped in with both feet. My first attempt at digital drawing was when I attended the Tableau Customer Conference and decided to create a sketchnote journal to remember the experience.
