Data Storytelling and UX Design
Visual Strategy Document. Thumbnails from a visual strategy document, provided after initial workshop.
Information Design. A collection of data-heavy charts included in a presentation to Collaborative members.
Presentation Storyboarding. Physically mapping out the presentation storyboard with our visualizations with clients.
Research Dashboard. A simple Tableau dashboard that visualizes some of the initial research on political orgs in California.
Microsite. With a quick visual strategy session we mapped out the new website and built in Squarespace the next day.
Persona mapping. Prioritizing users based on their alignment to business goals and their level of experience with data.
Feature Prioritization. Mapping out potential site features according to complexity and impact towards goals.
Live wireframing. Sketching out potential concepts for the site content and page flow/sequencing with the group.
Final product. DataUSA launched last year as a single repository and visual exploration of public government data.
Concept Sketching. Used to test out whether a certain type of viz will work prior to data collection.
Continued Iteration. A more detailed wireframe created in Illustrator for a retail analytics project.
